Grounded: A life with meaning

If you want to be grounded. Think like a tree. lol. I'm kidding. Well, maybe not completely kidding.

Trees are magnificent. They're strong and rooted to say the least. Trees can grow over 100 ft tall on average! Trees provide needed shade on hot summer days and stay rooted during all seasons. They don't go anywhere, they adapt to their environment and they continue to grow. I'll say it again, TREES ARE MAGNIFICENT!

Believe it or not, we are or can be a lot like trees. It takes a lot of time and understanding to be rooted in who we are, and be grounded individuals. Just like trees, when we grow, our roots grow longer and stronger and we are able to withstand all seasons that life has to offer; and as we grow, we are able to see over everything! It's as amazing as it sounds.

How do we become grounded? Grounded minded people?

Grounded minded people understand other people. In fact they learn how to understand ALL people. This takes years and years, of course. This is because people are not always easy to understand. People go through all walks of life and it takes years of experience and compassion to even want to understand the people around you. If you think about it, you may start to see now, why a lot of people teeter totter. They waver and go through a lot of what ifs, following emotions, and fear in losing something. We really shouldn't have fear of anything if we are being honest with ourselves and situations. A lot of times we buckle up and forget the stability we have in Christ. If you don't know Christ, did you know He has all of the stability that you may not even know you've been needing?

The root cause of fear is worry and that turns us into selfish insecure individuals. We let our wants and needs take us over so much that we start to crumble ourselves down and behave in embarrassing ways. Instead of maturing we stay stunted in childlike ways of thinking. Worry will start to well up and turn into fear, then fear turns into anger, and anger turns into control. It eats up your spirit and although you may think you've taken care of things in your own hands, you still somehow feel....EMPTY. It's because your spirit knows truth. Your conscience knows what's right. You cannot hide from yourself. Why ever put yourself in such a place? When you can live in freedom. Gain freedom and live without fear to your fullest potential by getting grounded.

It's never a race when it comes to building yourself from within.

Tips to self stability:

  • Grounded people know their worth. Ground yourself knowing your own worth. Know your capabilities and root yourself in truth.
  • Know that you do not need to prove your worth or behave out of character to gain anything. You are valuable. Know it!
  • Know who you are and what your needs are. Take care of yourself by loving yourself, with self care, taking time away for you, and just building your own confidence within you.
  • Know that you are not perfect, and forgive yourself. This does not mean excusing yourself from deliberate bad behavior. Be careful and know the difference between the two because not knowing will destroy you instead of build you up.
  • Fear is a liar. It'll make you believe things that are not even there and throw a party in your head inviting unwanted guests like: worry, insecurity, anger and control. All at your expense!
  • Take charge of your mind! You have full control. Renew your ways of thinking and replace the lies with Truth!
